Circuit City files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Circuit City filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy today, even after announcing its plan to close 155 retail stores in the United States last week. According to Circuit City’s CFO, filing for Chapter 11 protection is a part of thier turnaround plan which also includes reducing its U.S. workforce by 17 percent.
